Dr. Bertsch is a board-certified psychiatrist who for the past 19 years has been the Chief Medical Officer of Northern Arizona Regional Behavioral Health Authority (NARBHA). In that capacity she is responsible for medical oversight of Arizona state-funded behavioral health services for 17,000 Medicaid-entitled and low income children and adults with behavioral health and substance use problems, as well as for adults who qualify as seriously mentally ill in NARBHAs 62,000 square mile service area.
She has served on numerous state-wide committees developing policies on clinical initiatives, services and treatment priorities for state-funded behavioral health and substance use services. Additionally she is a psychiatrist at Flagstaff’s North Country HealthCare, a federally qualified healthcare center, where she provides psychiatric care in support of the North Country primary care physicians in an integrated health clinic. She is Adjunct Faculty at A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona and is a psychiatric clinical supervisor for Arizona State University’s Doctor of Behavioral Health program.
